ROLLER DERBY
2009 was the second year that our crew covered all matches for the Mad Rollin' Dolls. We also produced a season of tv commercial that aired on the Madison CW, as well as circulating the web, in promotion of each game. One fun expo game of the season was at the Madison Mallards Duck Pond, where the derby girls made it out into a day time game outdoors (as opposed to most games that are played indoors at an arena).
2009 RECAP

The ending of the year and the beginning of a new one, and a new decade makes it a good time to look back at the year and progress made so far.

Although we did not film the Dairyland Dolls (Mad Rollin' Dolls National Team) at Regionals, we did however make it to Denver for the Western Regional Tournament. We filmed all 16 games, including the very exciting Rocky Mountain girls Vs. Denver. We produced DVDs of each match and the tournament sold them on the spot. Our footage also streamed on DNN and they used our stream for commentary.

GEAR
Made a few updates to gear this past year including an additional VX2100 making a full set of 4 identical SD cameras (ideal for multi-camera). Made much more use of our Helmet Cam. Purchased an additional video mixer (the V8). Not to mention 2 identical projectors - 3,000 Lumin each yo! Into 2010 I think I'll be looking to pick up a few more mics and add in a few more monitors to the mobile multi-camera rig.
SXSW
After a full on 4 day production of SXSW in 2008 (4 locations of record label showcases of multi-camera mixing for multiple bands each night), we took advantage of stepping back and being observers of SXSW in 2009, having the opportunity to get around, see a lot of shows, see more of the trade shows, and sit in on workshops. We did still manage to do some filming. Color Pharmacy.
MORE LIVE MUSIC
Following SXSW, we came almost straight back to Milwaukee to film 4 consecutive bands at the Modjeska theater. One of the groups, an African Band, we would turn the footage into a DVD for the band. It was also a great opprotunity to network with an amazing light designer who brought an incredible LED backdrop to the production, helping to make our video really shine.

Later in the summer, our camera crew would head up to Minniapolis for an amazing shoot with four great rock bands.
THE INTER-WEBS
In the world of web, I made some great personal progress with my flash (action script 2 &3) and jquery skills, building more technically challanging interactive pieces. Some highlights include the 360 degree product viewer that I developed for Lands' End.

I also designed the graphics for a series of chapter sites for the United Way, teaming up again with Penguin Sites. (as well as creating the banding identity for Penguin Sites).

I also worked this year for Ranghart, a high fashion company. I maintained the site that we had developed for them the year before. I also created a number of interesting posters for various events they hosted throughout the year.

The highlight in web this year was my work aiding to launch the new Brand 'Lands' End Canvas'. I really got to push my flash skills to use, creating many different concepts, many that would never make the live site, but the final one became the home page of the site. I worked with a number of great designers and brought to life their concepts through with flash and video.

FORWARD MUSIC FEST
2 days, 11 bands. 'nough said.
VJ FUN
VJ-ing or video DJ-ing, though for some might congure up MTV icons, its actually an interesting art of mixing video and graphics live at a club as they react and interact with music and the general vibe of the venue as you can use the video to satire the event itself and to compliment music. It makes use of projectors, screens, and a variety of source materials which may include video cameras, tape decs, dvd players, laptops, and various image generating software programs. One note-able performance by our Tele-Assassins crew was with DJ Phil Money and DJ Rekha.
THEATRE
In 2009 our crew did its first multi-camera live directing of live plays. We filmed the play Blasphemy at the Bartell theatre. Coincidentally, in the same year I would donate my time to their site redesign that was headed by Penguin Sites. Having a newly developed interest in filming plays, I would also film The Smart Women Project, a collection of 9 short plays promoting women directors and play writes, producing a trailer for them and also a DVD of the event.
